He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Storytellers - Open the Book
The church has a very enthusiastic team of Storytellers who attend Collective Worship Assemblies at both of our Church of England Primary Schools at Ettington, Newbold and Tredington. They use the Bible Society ‘Open the Book’ Storytelling Bible and Storyteller’s Handbook to tell stories from the Bible and share the Christian faith. A welcome and introduction lead into the story which is read and enacted by the team with children from the school followed by a quiet moment for reflection and wonder, concluding with an offered prayer.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
